A modern kitchen is not just about beautiful furniture and well-thought-out appliances. It's also about clean air, the absence of odors, and a cozy atmosphere. But all of this is impossible without one crucial element – the kitchen hood. Many underestimate its importance, believing they can do without it. In reality, a kitchen hood is not just a household appliance, but a true protector of health, furniture, and the home's atmosphere. During cooking, fats, steam, odors, and combustion products are released into the air. This is especially true when frying or stewing for extended periods. If there's no kitchen hood, all of this settles on cabinets, ceilings, curtains, and in your lungs. Even if the room is regularly ventilated, this doesn't provide complete protection. A kitchen hood, installed directly above the hob, instantly draws in contaminated air, filters it, and either expels it outside or cleans it and returns it to the room. There are two main types of kitchen hoods: ducted (extraction) and recirculating. The former connect to a ventilation shaft and expel contaminated air outside. This is the most effective cleaning method but requires specific installation and access to ventilation. The second option – recirculating hoods – passes air through filters, cleans it, and returns it to the room. Such models are particularly popular in apartments where there's no possibility to connect to a ventilation shaft. Another important parameter is performance, i.e., how many cubic meters of air the hood can clean per hour. For a standard kitchen in Uzbekistan (10–12 m² in area), an appliance with a performance of 300 to 600 m³/h is suitable. If you cook frequently and actively, especially dishes involving frying or spices, it's better to choose a more powerful option. Don't forget about the noise level. Modern hoods can operate almost silently – especially models with good sound insulation and multiple power modes. This is especially important if the kitchen is combined with the living room or located near bedrooms. Design also plays a role. Modern hoods come in dome, flat, telescopic, built-in
